At Chapel Hill Training, we employ highly qualified individuals from diverse training backgrounds, so that we can all grow in our knowledge of health, wellness, and fitness together.

Each of our staff members is required to hold at minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology and at least one high-level nationally accredited personal training, strength and conditioning, or health coaching certification.

Our trainers are categorized into tiers based on certifications and experience levels.

About Our Tiered Structure

Our tiered pricing structure helps support our staff, encourage advancement, reward longevity, and ensure the excellent service we pride ourselves on. The system is based on objective measures, including but are not limited to current experience level, certifications, degrees, and client retention rates. Working with higher tiered trainers requires a "surcharge" added to our base rates.

​In addition to this, as an employer, CHT strives to create a welcoming and flexible environment where trainers find the support they need to pursue their fitness passion and further grow their skills by offering commission raises, benefits, and diverse training opportunities. 

Tiered Structure
Tier 1
  • 1 year of tenure with CHT while maintaining base full-time hours

  • Hold and maintain at least one personal training certification

  • Average quarterly retention rate of 80% or more

Tier 2
  • 2-4 years tenure with CHT

  • Hold and maintain at least two nationally accredited certifications

  • Master’s Degree in Exercise & Sport Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Psychology, Athletic Training, or related fields

  • Average quarterly retention rate of 80% or more

There is a 10% surcharge added when working with Tier 2 Trainers

Tier 3
  • 5-8 years tenure with CHT

  • Earn and maintain at least three nationally accredited certifications

  • Master’s Degree + two years of working with clients + one certification

  • Doctorate Degree + one year of working with clients + one certification 

There is a 20% surcharge added when working with Tier 3 Trainers
